Reading Milton and drinking scotch has him in a foul mood. Sobering stuff, actually, much like P.J. O'Rourke's damning treatise of a few weeks back. Maybe I'll have a nip or two, myself.

Mrs. Milton found him boring, too. He's a little bit long-winded, he doesn't translate very well into our generation, and his jokes are terrible.
Mrs. Milton told someone he wasn't that good.
That doesn't relieve Mrs. Milton of her responsibilities!
