Bible Stories

Just trying to get the week started right, with a little scriptural study, including all time favorite, Onan the Spiller:

I like the fact that the Bible tells stories of real people dealing with real issues. Onan withdrew because impregnating his brother's widow could have resulted in sharing his inheritance. His motivation was pure avarice.

Most of evening television these days is about similar dilemmas.

Whatever their faults, the Jews were not shy about a "warts and all" telling of their story. Would suggest Amy Jill Levine's course on the Old Testament via The Teaching Company. Highly entertaining to listen to between Ozona and Artesia.
