With the Thursday night matchup looming to decide the national champ, the WSJ tackles the question of which school can boast the title of best ever: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123092792366849719.html. Some are saying OU may claim that, should they prevail over the Gatorbators. I don't know. I do know that during their stellar string of seasons in the 1950s, they were piloted by Bud Wilkinson who later became the color guy on ABC college broadcasts and was as exciting as a fence post. Later, it emerged that this same drab, milktoast Wilkinson was allegedly a cocksman of epic accomplishments while in Norman, making Barry Switzer pale in comparison. Well, Barry probably reigns supreme in the "Banging Wives of Assistant Coaches" category, but Wilkinson was clearly stronger overall, particularly with the Hellelenic Council.
Boolah-boolah.
