A Day After the Day After

Obama is "huddling." Huddling is where politicians gather to be important in a communal circle, with huddlettes assuming the submissive position around the alpha dog. Lots of that occurring now.

I genuinely hope that Obama is a successful president and that he will earn my vote in the next rodeo. My guess is that when performance inevitably does not match the soaring rhetoric, his supporters will become greatly disillusioned, resulting in vast wealth for those who bought calls on Starbucks or other retailers or providers of comfort items for the rainbows and unicorns faithful.

Lots of blame going around among the R's for the crushing defeat. That's a fairly useless exercise. Obama is immensely likable, is a fantastic communicator that would have made Ronald the Reagan proud, and the economy was in the toilet. Pretty easy to guess what would happen.

More later.

"Obama is immensely likeable..". Well, yeah, I guess, if you're pro-union, anti-business, and like the idea of a soft, goal-deprived life spent sucking from the teat of big government. "Likeable" as Tom Cruise is in "Jerry Maguire", i.e. Obama's nothing more than a very personable fictional character playing his part very well.

And play it well he does indeed...

I also fear that any performance issues will be overlooked, much as they were during his campaign. For the very same reasons, of course. His is too historic a presidency to be sullied by such truths.

Otherwise, you're dead on.

nimdok replies in typical knuckle-dragging, reactionary, Bushneck fashion. Do you not understand change? That there will be lots and lots of change. And people will smile and no one will have to play dodgeball and have mean things said. Also, there will be butterflies. But, I digress.

The electorate demands (especially in a presidential election) an attractive candidate--appearance, attitude, demeanor, speaking ability. He fit the bill quite well. The colossal idiocy that is everything else did the rest.

Battered and bruised knuckles aside, I daresay I possess those very same qualities - especially after several pints of courage. At least that's what the ugly chick at the end of the bar told me last night...

Im not quite sure that qualifies me to be the leader of the free world.
