The Eagle Went Over the Mountain

Pretty good slide show on the tactics of our enemies in Afghanistan. At the end of the pictures on the below link - click on where it says, "Please click to view entire Power Point". See the last few slides if you don't have time for all of it. I went through it last night, pretty interesting.

Fascinating stuff. I'm left with a few thoughts after reading:
1. Afghans are still the cruel, effective fighters they were with the British and Soviets.
2. Even when taking hits, the Marines still wreak havoc.
3. The ability to adapt to the enemy's tactics and overcome remains the hallmark of the American military. Nobody does it better.
4. At some point in this war, we're going to have Americans captured. That's going to be real hard on the country.
5. Fighting a war in that terrain against a determined foe who can bide time will force a day of reckoning for how long we can continue/afford the effort. The logistical end alone is more than daunting.
6. American service personnel are the greatest people on earth. Everyone else walking the planet is a very distant second.
